When I have an extra moment, my guilty pleasure is that I adore writing and taking photos. My bachelor’s degree is in Journalism, so I naturally gravitate to enjoying communication, and especially conveying a story. In fact, I helped edit and write a couple of children’s books, and my poetry has been awarded. I take pleasure in all types of writing, and lately I’ve been authoring numerous columns and articles for a national women’s magazine.
While I love the excitement of acting, modeling, and pageants, most wouldn’t guess that I equally love soaring in the skies on adventure flights, such as going up in the Goodyear Blimp, or taking a helicopter ride to a remote waterfall in Hawaii. My most recent voyage was that my husband surprised me with a hot air balloon ride! As we floated over the beautiful countryside in Nebraska, we were treated with a spectacular sunrise!
Red is my favorite color, and it conveys passion for life! One of my passions is my platform about total body wellness called “The Happy Heart”, and I’ve teamed up with the American Heart Association for it. Red is also our football game day color in Nebraska as we cheer on our beloved Huskers, and recently my family all wore our Husker red when we appeared on the “Family Feud” show as the Skaff Family!
I absolutely adore outdoor sports! From running and biking to swimming and intertubing down Nebraska’s famous Niobrara River, I feel alive when I’m outside! My most recent memorable endeavor was that I ran my first marathon. It took months of physical training, and tremendous mental discipline, but it was incredibly rewarding to accomplish. I also learned a true appreciation for teamwork as my husband rode next to me on his bicycle the entire 26.2 miles.
